Dear Jeannine, you already have 20 years of experience in HR, and you joined us in April 2019, which means your entry into a new industry. What is the main difference between the recruiting process and other companies?
So far I have recruited vacancies. This means that one position had to be filled and I was looking for its successor. So you knew exactly what you were looking for and what you wanted. We placed an ad to that effect and found a suitable successor.
At andrion AG we are looking for new talents. That's why we always have new applicants who react to our talent research. So you can and must react much more flexibly to the individual applications and estimate which projects could come into question.
In addition, the new industry is a totally new environment for me. I come from the technical sector. At the moment I am finding myself in the new position and understand more and more what it requires to recruit an andrion talent.
How has digitalization changed recruiting?
Digitization has simplified many processes. Today, a standard response e-mail is sent to an application, in contrast to the way it used to be in the past where you'd send every interim report by telephone or post. This has made everything much simpler but also more fast-paced.
What enters the advertisements can be reached with a job profile much more people at once. However, the competition is much bigger, so there is also the danger as a company to perish in the masses.
But you have a kind of HR all-rounder function in our company. Not only the recruiting. What tasks does that involve by and large?
Recruiting is a small part of my job. I am responsible for payroll, entries and exits, the handling of all social insurances, reports of illness or accidents, contact persons for all employees with questions, and much more.
What do you particularly like about andrion AG?
As already mentioned, I have an all-rounder function. This is much more varied than working in a large company where, for example, you are only responsible for payroll or recruiting. Here I have a broad total package. But much is more modern than with my previous positions. Everything is digital. As an example; if possible no paper is used. In addition, the flexibility is very high. You quickly adapt to new situations and have to think actively. At the moment, a lot of things are a big challenge, but I enjoy it very much.
What is the biggest challenge you face when working for andrion AG?
For me, the biggest challenge at the moment is to understand the industry correctly. I will be passing by all our clients in the near future so that I can take a look at the projects and better understand how a consultant's daily routine works and what he does in detail.
